Game of Thrones' Last Righteous Character Rumored to Die in Finale

Jon Show Could Be the Next to Go on HBO

Jon Snow, played by Kitt Harington, is one of the few sympathetic characters left on the hit HBO show ‘Game of Thrones.’ Is he the next to die?”

Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow, the last righteous character on the HBO hit “Game of Thrones,” has been making the rounds of talk shows, amid social media scuttlebutt that Snow may be the next major character to be killed off in the brutish series.

Harington appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel” last night on ABC, where he judged some Jon Snow impersonators and talked about what he would do if his character is killed off.

The night before, Harington teamed up with Seth Meyers on his show for a hilarious skit. Snow is invited to a fey Manhattan dinner party where things get awkward pretty fast. After all, being Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch is pretty intense.

Amid the small talk about the coming Spring, all Jon could think about is winter.

“Winter is coming,” he muttered over and over.

“The snow will fall a hundred feet deep, the ice-wind will howl out the north, and sun hides its face for years and little children will all be born and die in the darkness,” he intoned.

“Game of Thrones” took another grim turn when Melisandre (Carice van Houten), Red Priestess of the Lord of Light, convinced lover Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane) to burn at the stake his only daughter, the innocent Shireen (Kerry Ingram).

She was just the latest popular character to die horribly. Robb Stark (Richard Madden) also died horribly at the Red Wedding. Now the bulls-eye appears to be on Snow’s back, simply because he’s likable.

Harington seems unprepared for the moment. “I don’t know how I could top ‘Thrones,’ I think I would probably just give [acting] up,” he said about his role.

Last week, he narrowly escaped death in a pitch battle with White Walkers, the walking dead of the North beyond the wall.

David Benioff and D.B. Weiss wrote the finale for the series series based on George R. R. Martin‘s novels; David Nutter directed.

The Season 5 finale, which airs Sunday is titled “Mother’s Mercy.”

The teaser goes like this: “Stannis marches. Dany is surrounded by strangers. Cersei (Lena Headey) seeks forgiveness. Jon is challenged.

“You can’t count on Jon Snow being safe or Tyrion being safe or anyone being safe, so it keeps people on the edge of their seat, and it’s why it’s good drama,” Harrington said in a recent interview.

Anything can happen!

The series will return for Season 6 in April.
