Twilight star Ashley Greene and Jonas Bros. rocker Joe Jonas are finally going public with their budding relationship. The were spotted holding hands, but will Ashley ever get beyond first base?
The couple has been seeing each other on the down low for a couple of months and appear to have finally ditched the “just friends” routine.
They were spotted together yesterday in Beverly Hills walking with their arms wrapped around each other, and later holding hands. But will it go any further than that, short of marriage?
Joe Jonas, along with brothers Nick and Kevin, pledged in 2008 to remain virgins until they wed.
The trio all wear purity rings to remind them of their pledge and have become figureheads for a movement to convince other teens to avoid sex until they are married.
Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez are among other stars who have taken a similar pledge.
Joe said at the time that he and his brothers made “promises to ourselves and to God that we’ll stay pure till marriage.”
Their pledge led to ridicule during the MTV Video Music Awards. UK comedian Russel Brand chided the trio for their purity rings and doubted they would not have sex before they married. He later apologized for his remarks.
Although the ring officially is still on, Life&Style magazine reports that Joe has ditched his ring since hooking up with Greene.
“When they’re not traveling they are basically living together,” a purported friend told the magazine.
MTV reports that he has not been seen recently wearing the ring.
One thing is certain critics and supporters alike will be watching the relationship develop.
Kevin Jonas, 23, wed his longtime girlfriend Danielle Deleasa in Long Island, New York last December.
Yesterday, Ashley and Joe were spotted going to lunch and then shopping for a few hours.
The couple then sped off in Joe’s Porsche to celebrate brother Frankie Jonas’ 10th birthday.
They were first spotted having dinner together at The Ivy in London back in July.
Ashley, 23, was in town to attend the premiere of Twilight, in which she starred as Alice Cullen, and Joe was there to support his brother Nick in his West End stage debut, appearing in Les Miserables.
Before that Jonas had been dating teen sensation another chastity ring wearer, Demi Lovato. He dumped her in May.
Greene recently took Jonas home to meet her parents in Jacksonville, Fla., according to E! News.
Is Joe still Master of his Domain? Or does he now owe Russell an apology?

Ashley will find someone 100x hotter than Joe. She isn’t wife material. Joe should just slow down other wise he is going to end up marrying the wrong girl and it’ll be too late before he even realizes it. If it does lasts then good for them, but I highly doubt they will. Joe shouldn’t be with a girl like her.

What a damn hypocrite. I’m glad their fifteen minutes are up. At least Miley let her colours show, Jonas actually had people believe they weren’t skanky. From what I’ve seen, Nick has screwed half the cast of Les Mis, and Joe got a good portion of Hollywood in his pants. A good role model wouldn’t be a two faced liar, they would be honest. And lets face it; how does having sex before marriage make you bad? In my book, lying about it is a thousand times worse.
