Cersei Provides a Season 7 Clue in New Game of Thrones Teaser (see!)

Winter Is Finally Coming to Seven Kingdoms

Cersei Lanister (Lena Heady) suggests a clear plot point with just a simple sigh in a new teaser clip for “Game of Thrones” Season 7. Seated on the Iron Throne, she breaths out and a cloud of vapor pours from her mouth. Winter is definitely coming.

Even in the far southern Westeros, where Cersei reigns in Kings Landing, the icy hand of the white walkers will be felt.

Over six seasons, “Game of Thrones” has played out like a Survivor series. The contest to rule the Seven Kingdoms is down to three main players.

Cersei of the ruling Lanisters; Jon Snow (Kit Harington) commander of the Night’s Watch and putative heir to the North and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), the witching daughter of the deposed mad King.

The teaser clip opens with a dark corridor and wind-blown candles. Jon Snow emerges from the shadows walking with a determined stride, obviously, toward whatever fate awaits him.

Next, Dani, mother of dragons, takes her walk down a rocky corridor and ends up seated on what looks like a throne, but not the Iron Throne. That still belongs to Cersei after the vengeful destruction of her enemies in Season 6.

After tight face shots, Cersei provides the coda with her breathy gasp. Is that a commentary on her personality, or what’s to come when winter arrives?

Because, the final scene belongs to the feared Night King who leads the White Walkers. Will he unite the warring kingdoms against him?

As the old adage goes, an enemy of my enemy is my friend.

It will all play out when “Game of Thrones” Season 7 kicks off Sunday, July 16.

In the meantime, check out the clip below and tell us your own interpretation.
