Kim Cattrall, who starred in the hit HBO series “Sex and the City,” put out a desperate plea to help find her brother, who went missing in Canada five days ago. She learned today that he was found dead in a shocking family tragedy.
Catrall, 61, issues a statement today (Feb. 4) confirming that her brother was dead.
“It is with great sadness that myself and my family announce the unexpected passing of our son and brother, Chris Cattrall,” the actress, wrote on her Twitter account.
“At this time we ask for privacy. We want to thank you all on social media for your outpouring of love and support in this trying time.”
Kim had made a desperate plea over social media to asked anyone in the vicinity to look out for him. Family members and Canadian federal police had also issues an alert.
“He has been missing since Tuesday, January the 30th from his home in Lacombe, Alberta Canada. His keys, cell phone, & wallet left on the table and his front door unlocked,” she wrote on the social media site.
“This is not like Chris. He would never leave his unlocked home without those items nor his 7 beloved dogs,” she wrote.
The actress said that her brother was “one of a kind.”
Chris reportedly lived in a rural with seven dogs, according to The Edmonton Journal.
Cattrall’s body was found on his property.
“Police have no reason to believe there anything suspicious involved in his death,” said RCMP Cpl. Laurel Scott.
Chris was married to Morgan Xavier Cattrall, who has two children from a previous relationship.
