If Taylor Lautner looked like he was on cloud nine at the People’s Choice Awards last night (Jan. 5) there may have been a reason — Lily Collins, the daughter of music great Phil Collins.
Lautner, 19, and Twilight castmates Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart flew to L.A. for the show from Baton Rouge, La, where they are filming “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.”
In the movie, Taylor competes with Rob for Kristen’s hand as shape shifter Jacob Black.
But while Rob and Kristen share an on-screen, off-screen Twilight relationship, Taylor’s romance grew out of his action-adventure movie “Abduction.”
He co-stars in the movie with Collins and their on-screen romance apparently is going real time, according to PopEater.
“They appear to be seeing each other, but it’s too early to see what will happen because they are both young,” a source close to the couple tells the gossip Web site.
Collins, 21, is probably best known as Sandra Bullock’s daughter in the 2009 film, “The Blind Side.”
Lautner and Collins apparently first ignited rumors of a possible relationship in June at the afterparty for the Los Angeles premier of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.”
She was at his side, again, at a Steelers football game in September in Pittsburgh, where “Abduction” is being filmed.
Lautner even reportedly met her father, Phil, the following month. “Phil is pretty tough on the guys Lily introduces him to… but they got along well,” a source told UK’s Marie Claire magazine.
Lautner was previously linked with country singer Taylor Swift . They met on the set of the movie Valentine’s Day in 2009 and dated for three months before calling it quits.
“It wasn’t really developing into anything, and wasn’t going to, so they decided they were better as friends,” a source close to Swift told Us. “There was no chemistry.”
This time, though, the chemistry seems to be getting close to a chain reaction.
