“High School Musical” star Vanessa Hudgens, who has been burned once again by the release of sexually provocative photos over the Internet, is cooperating with a police investigation into a ring of Hollywood celebrity hackers.
The actress, 22, is said to be “deeply upset and angered” after photos which she took of herself in 2007, appeared for the third time ahead of her latest movie debut.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) also has reportedly become involved in the investigation because they believe a hacker ring is victimizing as many as 50 Hollywood celebrities.
In January, the FBI arrested Miley Cyrus hacker Josh Holly, who had cracked the “Hannah Montana” stars email account and published several racy camera-phone photos that she took of herself.

The arrest, however, was unrelated to the Cyrus hacking; Holly was charged for hacking credit card numbers.
Holly made no secret off his hacking exploits and published the Cyrus photos on his own Web site, since closed down.
FBI agents believe 50 celebrities who have been hacked can be traced back to the same person, the ringleader of the group, according to gossip site TMZ.
Scarlett Johansson, who reportedly had a nude photo stolen from her iPhone, is also an alleged ring victim.
In the latest episode, an individual approached several Web sites trying to sell photos and/or videos of Hudgens nude.
In other photos, she poses provocatively with Zoey 101 actress Alexa Nikolas. One of the photos shows them kissing passionately.
“It is particularly disturbing that whoever got a hold of these private photos seem to be intent on illegally leaking them out over a long period of time,” Hudgens’ lawyer Christopher Wong told TMZ.
“We are actively working with law enforcement to determine who is responsible and to hold them accountable for their actions,” he said.
The photos first surfaced in 2007 just as Hudgens’ film High School Musical 2 was premiering on television.
Her new film “Sucker Punch,” starring Emily Browning and Jon Hamm is an action fantasy film written by Steve Shibuya and Zack Snyder, who also directs.
Carla Gugino, Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone and Jamie Chung also star. It hits theaters March 25.
