Hot Model Lindsey Wixson Slips, Falls on Runway (video)

Lindsey Wixson tumbled on the runway at Milan Fashion Week while walking for Versace. The young fashion phenom still has a thing or two to learn about walking in six-inch heels.

Wixson looks like she catches a heel as she steps on the edge of the runway trying to make way for another model.

Did the other model crowd her off the catwalk? Check out the video.

The stumble will hardly put a dent in Wixson’s career. She has rocketed into the top 20 of fashion models at the tender age of 17, although she is obviously still finding herself.

Terry Richardson photographs Lindsey Wixson in and around New York City and New Jersey for Purple Fashion.

The 5-foot, 11-inch tall model is defined by her unique bee-stung lips, rosebud pout and gapped front teeth.

As of June 2011, Wixson ranked 16th on the Top 50 Models list at MODELS.com.

She was 5-feet, 7-inches tall at the age of 12, and even strangers would come up to her in her hometown of Wichita, Kan., to tell her she should consider being a model.

But in school, she says, she was considered an ugly duckling and mocked for her looks.

She began modeling three years later for an agency in Los Angeles. Oddly she was rejected by several New York agencies, until one, Marilyn Agency, signed her.

Photographer Steven Meisel handpicked her for a Vogue Italia photo shoot, and she landed her runway job during Spring 2010 New York Fashion Week walking for Cynthia Steffe.

She walked in 44 shows in New York, Paris and Milan in the fall, and landed her first major magazine cover, for the i-D magazine fall 2010 issue.

This year Jason Wu designed her prom dress especially for her. He also design designed Michelle Obama’s inaugural dress.

How’s that for revenge of the high school nerds?
