Kim Kardashian Xmas Card a Study in Family Pecking Order

Kim Kardashian looks remarkably slender in the new, heavily airbrushed  family Christmas card, but this year she is isolated and far from the center of power occupied by momager Kris Jenner.

Kim Tweeted the photo to her four million fans today (Dec. 19) in what has become a family tradition.

The family Christmas card, however, is like Kremlin photos from the old Soviet Union. It says a lot about the family pecking order, if you interpret it like a CIA analyst.

This year, momager Kris is in the center of the photo, suggesting she rules the roost in a matriarchy.

Step-dad Bruce Jenner is merely an adjunct. He stares off into the distance, ineffectual, powerless.

Surprisingly, Khloe and husband Lamar Odom are next to Kris, a position of power and an elevation from last year’s card.

Kim was the center of attention back then in an eye-catching white gown.

But this year, Kim is alone and isolated, standing on a lower step than momager Kris and sister Khloe.

She’s clearly subordinate, perhaps reflecting her fall from grace after filing for divorce.

Kim looks sullen, almost angry and possibly defiant, a subconscious acknowledgement of her demotion.

She’s leaning away from the center of the photograph in a sign of disaffection, with her hands on her hips, a sign of defiance.

In contrast, Lamar and Khloe are leaning toward Kris. They have been pillars of stability in this tumultuous year, and Khloe’s willingness to follow Lamar to Dallas showed real maturity.

Kourtney occupies the outer ring of the family photo, farthest from the center. Scott is on the fringe, clearly the odd man out.

Momager Kris is obviously mad at them because they won’t get married.

Thanks to apparent, heavy airbrushing, Kim’s waist looks incredibly small and her hips, legs and face look like then have been thinned.

Kourtney, 32, (who’s pregnant with her second child) looks thinner around the legs and face.

Khloe, 27, looks easily five to ten pounds lighter thanks to selective airbrushing of  her face, waist and thighs.

Kim’s step-sister, Kendall Jenner, 16, is a budding supermodel, thanks to her stunning good looks.

She may be the only one who required minimal touch up, but her position in the family is clearly subordinate.

She stands on the lowest step, and like last year, she’s dressed like a dowager.

The wicked step-sisters must have seen to that to keep from being upstaged by the family Cinderella.

Noticeably absent, of course, is Kim’s estranged husband Kris Humphries. She booted him from the family on Halloween, so he’s out of the picture… literally.

Kim filed for divorce from Kris just 72 days after their blowout $18 million wedding extravaganza causing a huge uproar.

Kris is now suing Kim for an annulment, alleging that the marriage was a fraud, perpetrated so she could cash in on a wedding special.
