Kris Humphries slam dunked his estranged wife Kim Kardashian in a new statement from his legal team. They charge Kim has spent “much effort and energy to mis-direct the public’s perception” about the New Jersey Nets basketballer. But that’s not all.
The purpose of the statement was to make clear that Kris will remain silent and save his arguments for court. But in effect, it’s a damning indictment of Kim’s efforts to trash her estranged husband.
Humphries is being represented by Lee A. Hutton III, general counsel of the law firm of Lommen Abdo, and Los Angeles family law experts Marshall Waller and Sandra Salinas of Feinberg & Waller.
Waller represented Michelle Rodman in her 2009 child-support case against ex-husband, Dennis Rodman, a former NBA star.
Speaking through his new legal team, Humphries slammed the Kardashians for their “ridiculous and defamatory allegations and personal attacks” against him.
The lawyers also hit the Kardashians for putting “big numbers out in an attempt to settle Mr. Humphries’ claims” when the basketballer has yet to make any financial claims on his own. Gossip site TMZ reported that Humphries was seeking $7 million.
“Much effort and energy to mis-direct the public’s perception of what transpired between Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries has taken place over the past several months” the statement reads.
“This case will be resolved not in the court of public opinion amidst ridiculous and defamatory allegations and personal attacks directed against Kris Humphries,” the lawyers asserted.
If that’s what they mean by silence, it will be interesting to see what happens when they decide to fire both barrels.
