England’s future queen Kate Middleton has something in common with America’s R&B queen Beyonce. They both prefer to keep their distance from Kim Kardashian’s publicity machine.
Kate reportedly turned down a request for a visit from the reality TV star.
Kim journeyed to England recently with sister Kourtney Kardashian to promote their Kardashian Kollection clothing line in the UK.
During their stay, Kim reportedly couldn’t resist asking the royal palace if she could meet the Duchess of Cambridge, who is an international fashion icon. But the palace politely replied that Kate would be unavailable.
“Kim wasn’t happy because she’s obsessed with Kate, but the Duchess of Cambridge has no interest in becoming part of the Kardashian publicity machine,” a royal family insider reportedly told the National Enquirer.
“Kate can’t stand their style, and from what she knows about their TV show, it’s just a bunch of trashy people primping and yelling at each other. She’s far too polite to diss Kim to her face, but she’s got enough on her plate without having tea with someone like her.”
It’s hard to believe that Kim could be so audacious as to request an audience with Prince William’s wife, or that The Enquirer would have a source with that kind of inside information. But Kim is nothing if not a celebrity hound.
Reportedly the whole idea was Kanye West’s. The rapper, who once met Prince William, was along on the trip and suggested that Kim ring up Kate for a visit.
The Kardashian sisters also reportedly offered to send some selections from their British line over to the palace, in the off-chance, heaven forbid, that Kate, who is into practical clothing would wear something in public, according to the tabloid. “Kate wouldn’t be caught dead in a Kardashian outfit!” the source claimed.
“The royal family is very careful about not being seen to endorse any product. It’s just not proper. Quite apart from that, the Kardashian outfits just aren’t appropriate for a duchess.”
