Charlie Sheen ex Brooke Mueller is in the hospital after reportedly overdosing on drugs today (Dec. 7) in Tarzana, a suburb of Los Angeles. Meuller has struggled with substance abuse for years.
Sheen married Mueller in 2008 and had twin sons, Bob and Max together. Both struggled with alcohol and drug abuse, which ended in a domestic altercation in Aspen, Colo.
Sheen filed for divorce in 2010 and the two have had an up-and-down relationship since then that has including court confrontations over custody of their two children. Sheen overdosed while using cocaine and was hospitalized in 1998.
Mueller’s last stint in rehab, her 15th trip to a treatment center, ended in July a year ago. She completed a 45-day program for alcohol and drug addiction. But in December, she was arrested for suspected assault and felony drug possession, according to reports.
This past March she pleaded guilty to possession of 4 grams or less of cocaine. She was put on on year probation, and it’s unknown at the moment whether her latest pitfall with drugs will send her to jail.
Mueller is reportedly conscious and responsive, according to gossip site TMZ. She’d been on a weeks-long bender, causing concern among close friends, before the L.A. City Fire Department was called to transport her to the hospital.
Brooke was spotted out last night at Mr. Chow’s in Beverly Hills. Her drug of choice has always been cocaine, which can cause convulsions and cardiac arrest if taken in sufficient quantities.
