beyonce swift coke pepsi Taylor Swift Cokes Reply to Beyonce; Whos More Popular?Taylor Swift is Coca Cola’s answer to Pepsi’s Beyonce. The soft drink brand has reportedly cut a deal with the country queen to rep Diet Coke, in another step to extend her brand beyond her booming music career.

No details are available yet on exactly what Swift will do in the ongoing Cola wars. The two soft drinks have been battling for decades to gain market share.

Beyonce will be unopposed in this year’s Super Bowl ad sweepstakes, according to Ad Age, which broke the story.

Coke wisely held back on running Swift commercials since they were sure to be overshadowed. Beyonce, will not only appear in ads, she will also be the star attraction at halftime show, which Pepsi is sponsoring.

Her brand took a hit, however, during President Obama’s inaugural ceremonies.

She lip-synced her performance of the Star Spangled Banner in what should have been a showcase performance. The move has drawn widespread criticism considering the enormity of the event.

Kelly Clarkson and James Taylor both sang live leading up to her performance. She has yet to respond to the controversy.

According to the advertising mag, Swift lacks Beyonce’s superstar presence. But her fans might beg to differ. Swift has more than 23 million Twitter followers while Beyonce has just under 6 million followers.

Swift is not only a country star, but has a huge crossover pop music following, and she’s the darling of teens everywhere because of her breakup songs.

Red , Swift’s fourth studio album was released in October and shot right to No. 1 on the pop charts. It went platinum the first week with 1.2 million sales, making it the second-highest debut album by a female, behind Britney Spears’ Oops!… I Did It Again.

Beyonce, 31, may not be as popular, but she’s more accomplished in part because of the length of her career. She’s appeared in movies, and her HBO documentary will debut next month.

Swift also has deals with Cover Girl, Sony Electronics and Keds, according to the magazine. Perhaps signalling her new deal, Swift was spotted with a can of Diet Coke in her hand in London earlier this week.
