The latest report in OK magazine cites a so-called “source” who claims Kanye thinks realty television is “demeaning.”
That’s not only unlikely, but contradicts Kanye’s personality. Remember, he’s the one who rushed up on stage at the MTV Video Music Awards and grabbed the mic out of Taylor Swift’s hand. He thought Beyonce should have won the award for best female video and told everyone so.
More recently, Kanye has been dissing everyone on stage from Justin Timberlake to President Obama, the Grammys and the music industry as a whole. But he’s yet to rant about reality television.
In short, Kanye is a major publicity hound and always has been. If anything, he’s chomping at the bit to be on the show and has already made appearances.
But the real truth of the matter is Kim and her family have just signed a contract with E! Entertainment to do “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” at least through 2015, according to the cable network. So Kim, being the star, is locked in until then.
So, not only look for more of her on reality television but also the baby and Kanye as well. But don’t tell that to OK mag.
It’s hard to tell whether OK magazine just makes this stuff up, or the story is a plant by the Kardashian publicity machine to keep the Kardashians and their low-brow show front-and-center in the public’s mind.
“Since Kim got pregnant, Kanye’s been emboldened to suggest that maybe she should move on to the next stage of her career,” the rapper’s friend reportedly says.
“He’s been watching her shows and he thinks they’re demeaning to her and the rest of the family,” the source reveals. “He has these nightmares that Kim will give birth to their child on TV,” the friend continues.
Kim may not go that far, (although it’s more likely than not) but the rest of the story is sketchy to say the least.
Footnote: The article claims Kanye wants Kim to go into fashion to “broaden the brand.” Guess what? She’s already deep into fashion, with Dash retail outlets and her own line.
In short, it’s just not happening.
