Taylor Swift made no apologies for singing about her feelings as she kicked off her Red Tour in Omaha, Neb., last night. Swift has been getting heat lately over her dating habits and her habit of skewering ex-boyfriends.

More than 13,000 fans filled the city’s CenturyLink Center by Swift’s own count to her the latest songs from her new album.

It includes such breakup and dating anthems as “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” “I Knew You Were Trouble” and “22.” Although the singer never discussed the subjects of her songs, it’s become a parlor game to guess who’s getting needled.

“Getting Back Together” is supposedly about ex-boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal, while she reportedly penned “I Knew You Were Trouble,” about her romance with One Direction’s Harry Styles.

In a heart-to-heart chat with fans during the show, Swift thanked everyone for coming out. “If I haven’t seen you before, my name is Taylor and I write songs about my feelings,” she said, shrugging her shoulders.

“I’m told I have a lot of feelings…. and so, by you being hear tonight, all 13,500 of you have opted in to hearing me sing songs about my feelings for the next two hours. So thank you for that,” she said to roars from the crowd.

She warned the audience that they would see a lot of one color during the show, from microphones to lights, because in her head, she assigns colors to her emotions. “Like for me, blue is sad,” she explained.

“Yellow is comfort and warmth. But there’s one color that defines a lot of the emotions I’ve been writing about lately; emotions like frustration, anger, jealously, falling in love, falling out of love, heartbreak… all that good stuff,” she said.

You can probably guess the color.

Taylor kicked off the show with “State of Grace,” “Holy Ground” and “Red.” The tour is Swift’s third after her Fearless and Speak Now tours. She’ll be on the road for the next six months, in 47 North American cities.
