Angelina Jolie Fifty Shades of Grey Director? Why Not?

Actress Has Her Own Kinky Sex Past to Draw On

Angelina Jolie is one of Hollywood’s hottest actresses, so why not hire her to direct a movie based on “Fifty Shades of Grey,” one of the hottest properties floating around tinseltown?

Jolie debuted as the director of 2011’s “In the Land of Blood and Honey,” a controversial film about a love affairs set against the war in Bosnia in the 1990s.

She received solid reviews for her work, but so far helming the new movie is just a rumor.

The book, which sold more than 10 million copies to date, is one of the most talked properties for a film in recent memory. Actors are said to be clamoring for a role in the picture.

Among those mentioned for the film have been Amanda Seyfried, Kristen Stewart and Jennifer Lawrence. They would play Anastasia Steele, the young woman who becomes involved in an explicit relationship with billionaire businessman Christian Grey.

Robert Pattinson is among those who have been mentioned to play Grey.

Apparently there have been some “casual talks” with the actress, but nothing firm and nothing official, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

But nothing can be ruled out until a Director signs on the bottom line. So far studio Focus Features is also denying the rumor.

A big question is whether Jolie is up to the task, not only regarding her other commitments, but also her physical and mental health. During her last film, the actress withered to 98 pounds.

She said directing “Blood and Honey” was one of the most stressful times in her life.

On the other hand, since the book is told through the eyes of a woman, it seems like a female director could put the film in proper perspective. Plus, Jolie has her own kinky sex life to draw on.

With her name attached to the project, moviegoers would flock to theaters for that reason alone. So why not?
