Catherine Zeta-Jones — and her breasts — are playing in the Sir Trevor Nunn production of A Little Night Music, at the Walter Kerr Theater on Broadway and the actress is wowing the crowds with her beauty — on stage and in a new nude photo shoot.
Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler created the show, called an “erotic waltz,” and Jones has captured the essence of her role in a new Allure photo shoot for the magazine’s nude issue.
Jones suffered a wardrobe malfunction early in the run, which briefly exposed her breasts to the audience. She took the incident in stride and has proved to be a real trouper in the best Broadway tradition.
In one memorable moment during the show, keeping her back to the audience, she flashed a male co-star with only a G-string under her silk robe, according to the magazine.
“I’ve got to keep it interesting for the boy. We’ve got a long run,” says the actress.
Jones brought the same gutsy attitude to her Allure shoot, where she posed nude for Michael Thompson. See these pictures, plus shots from her 2007 Allure cover story.
Zeta-Jones plays Desiree Armfeldt, a flamboyant actress who sings the show-stopping ballad “Send in the Clowns.” Angela Landsbury also stars.
The actress won an Oscar in 2003 for her work in film musical “Chicago,” but theater critics have not been kind to the 40-year-old star.
New York Times reviewer Ben Brantley said the show was supposed to “smile at the escapades of the addled lovers” but he said the production was “dangerously close to a smirk.”
Another critic said Jones couldn’t sing and dance at the same time.
While Jones may have received mixed reviews, theatergoers say her breasts are real and they are spectacular. Check them out.
