Sandra Bullock has pulled the trigger on a divorce from cheating husband Jesse James, and has reportedly adopted a an African-American infant in what appears to be s sharp new direction in her life.
The adoption apparently has been in the works for four years, according to People magazine, which broke the story.
Both James and Bullock, married in 2005, were involved in the adoption. The couple brought the baby, named Louis Bardo, home in January.
Unfortunately, a year that was supposed to launch a new beginning for Bullock, 45, turned into a heartbreaking ordeal.
Tattooed stripper Michelle “Bombshell” McGee, revealed that she had an affair with James shortly after Bullock won an Academy Award for best actress for her role in “The Blind Side,” which is about a white family that adopts a black child.
Bullock and James wanted to keep the adoption private until after the Academy Awards.
“He’s just perfect, I can’t even describe him any other way,” Bullock, who plans on raising the child by herself, told the magazine of her son. “It’s like he’s always been a part of our lives.”
Bullock said she is both sad about and scared of the divorce proceedings, according to People.
Since the scandal broke, James has admitted to at least seven affairs during his marriage to Bullock, and spent some time in rehab in a desperate bid to save his marriage.
Besides McGee, tattooed stripper Melissa Smith, fetish model Brigitte Daguerre, former West Coast Choppers employee Merilee Gerth and an unnamed woman, reportedly a client of feminist lawyer Gloria Allred claimed to have slept with James.
