Actor Charlie Sheen, 44, and his wife, Brooke Mueller, 32, are trying to make a go at saving their marriage following Sheen’s arrest for allegedly threatening to kill Mueller on Christmas Day.
Friends of the couple have already suggested that their marriage is not working. It’s Sheen’s third. He was previously married to actress Denise Richards and Donna Peele.
But repairing the damage won’t be as simple as seeing a shrink. New reports say California child services officials may temporarily take twin nine-month-old sons Bob and Max into custody until they can assess the stability of their home.
The Los Angeles County’s Department of Children and Family Services will reportedly be meeting Sheen and his wife at the airport and both parents will have to agree to close monitoring, including drug testing three-to-five times a week, to maintain custody of the kids.
It’s also “for the good of the children” that Sheen and Mueller are making an attempt at marriage counseling. “Brooke and Charlie still love each other, but they are very different,” a source said.
“Brooke is very social and loves to be with other people and Charlie, when he’s not working or rehearsing for his show, prefers to stay home.”
“They definitely want to see if counseling will help before anything further is decided,” the source added.
The incident was triggered according to People magazine when Brooke asked Charlie for a separation and divorce. “This caused his temper to flair resulting in the incident that landed him in jail,” a source said.
Charlie was arrested for second-degree assault, menacing and criminal mischief while the pair were visiting family in Aspen for Christmas.
Details of the telephone call made by Brooke to the police were revealed yesterday (Dec. 29).
“My husband had me with a knife and I’m scared for my life, and he threatened me. I thought I was going to die,” Brooke told the emergency operator.
She paused when asked his name, before confirming: “It’s Charlie Sheen.”
Just like Sheen was able to get sprung from an Aspen jail in a few hours on bail even though courts were closed on Christmas day, he’ll likely get special treatment from California authorities as well. Don’t look for any changes or temporary custody orders.
Repeated special treatment by authorities is what empowers celebrities to act out in the first place. Sheen has had recurring problems with drugs and alcohol.

This is certainly hilarious! Imho he was amazing acting in Two and a Half Men, but it could be it was due to the fact he was simply just playing himself:-)
