J&J Heiress Casey Johnson Found Dead in Los Angeles

Casey Johnson, one of the heiresses to the Johnson & Johnson fortune, who was known for her bizarre behavior, has been found dead in Los Angeles. She was 30.

Johnson’s body was discovered in Los Angeles Monday morning (Jan. 4), according to police. Her father is Robert Wood Johnson IV, owner of the New York Jets football team.

Casey recently made headlines after announcing that she had gotten engaged to reality star Tila Tequila, but later they said the engagement was a joke.  An autopsy is pending, and once again, drugs are suspected.

Los Angeles police and firefighters were called to a house at 11:51 a.m. Monday. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.

“It appears to be a natural death,” said Los Angeles police officer Sara Faden. “There’s no evidence of foul play. A toxicology report from the coroner’s office will proceed next.”

Casey was diagnosed with diabetes at age 8, and was involved with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Tila told celebrity web site TMZ Monday evening after learning of Johnson’s death that she and Casey had been fighting last week and that Casey had stayed over at her house Dec. 28.

Tila claims she was unable to contact Casey on Dec. 29 because Johnson had shut off her phone. Johnson last tweeted on Dec. 29 at 1:13 AM Pacific time.

“Everyone please pray 4 my Wifey Casey Johnson. She has passed away. Thank u for all ur love and support but I will be offline to be w family,” Tila wrote on her Twitter feed.

Tila and Casey posed together at the Famous Stars & Straps party in Hollywood last month. An eyewitness told Fox411 that Casey could “hardly stand straight” and that Tila held her up all night.

Johnson, who was openly lesbian, dated Courtenay Semel, daughter of former Yahoo chief executive Terry Semel. Semel, whom she dated on and off from 2008 into last year, set Johnson’s hair on fire in January 2009, after a fight.

Casey, who was a longtime fixture on the New York and Los Angeles club scene, was arrested for grand theft in November for allegedly robbing model Jasmine Lennard’s home.

Johnson allegdly stole jewelry, shoes, legal documents, clothing, and underwear. Johnson allegedly left a used vibrator and wet towel as a calling card. Lennard was dating Semel at the time.

“Since the day I met Casey, I have only been a good force in her life. She’s been like a little sister to me,” Lennard told The New York Post. “I tried to get her off drugs and alcohol. I tried to get her into a 12-step program. I tried to help take care of her daughter. I’ve given her money.”

Casey once stated that her idol was Hollywood screen siren Marilyn Monroe. Johnson’s godmother is Diandra Douglas, the ex-wife of actor Michael Douglas.

She leaves behind a daughter, Ava-Monroe, whom she adopted from Kazakhstan in 2007.
