Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt had a five year run together, but if the latest reports are true, that’s about all they could stand of each other, even after six children.
The relationship has reportedly been on the rocks at least since their twins, Knox and Vivienne, were born. Angelina suffered a severe bout of post-partum depression and the two haven’t seemed the same since.
They also seemed to be moving further apart as Angelina, 34, got wrapped up more and more in her work as a United Nations ambassador.
And now, UK tabloid News of the World reports that the two are consulting divorce lawyers to divide up their marital assets and work out custody arrangements for the kids.
Legal papers outlining custody rights were reportedly signed this month, although they have yet to surface publicly.
“The document was signed in early January,” a source told the British tabloid. “It seemed clear they want the world to know they’ll both play a part in the upbringing of the children. But Angelina will actually be the one who lives with them full-time.”
In addition to the twins, their children include Shiloh and the three adopted children, Maddox, from Cambodia, Zahara, from Ethiopia, and Pax, from Vietnam. Jolie reportedly is anxious to adopt yet another child.
Reports of strains in their relationship have been fodder for tabloid gossip magazines for much of the past year. But this time, the News of the World all but declares the relationship over.
Previously the couple has brushed off reports of their estrangement, and have appeared in public together in a seeming effort to dispel the rumors.
They were all over each other at the premiere and afterparty for “Inglourious Basterds,” the Quentin Tarantino film starring Brad, at the Cannes Film Festival.
They seemed to go out of their way to disprove rumors that they were each others throats and on the verge of a split. Brad also did his bit by suggesting they may have more kids.
“I am in love and I have the most beautiful family — what else can a guy want? I am the happiest man ever. My daughter from Africa is beautiful,’ he said.
“We’re so lucky to have her and to have children from around the world.They’re all fantastic and we would love another. Who knows, maybe we’ll have one in London, I’d like that,” he told UK tabloid The Mirror in March last year.
But Pitt was photographed Friday night at the “Hope for Haiti” telethon in Los Angeles without Jolie.
The National Enquirer reported earlier this month that Pitt and Jolie were virtually living separate lives.
The relationship reportedly imploded after Angelina attempted suicide and she withered to 104 pounds, which led her to physically collapse, according to the magazine.
In December, Angelina reportedly attacked Brad when he supposedly confessed to cheating with Aniston. And, she supposedly booted him out of their Los Angeles house for a time, over his drinking.
More recently, Jolie was in New York wrapping up some extra scenes for her new spy thriller “Salt.” Brad was with her in the city as well, and they were spotted out and about with the children.
The denouement supposedly came during a fight over dinner, Jan. 6, at Alto, a restaurant in New York City. Angie rejected Brad’s ultimatum to get professional help for the depression she’s suffered since the death of her mother three years ago.
Instead, “Angie is throwing her energy into building a life apart from Brad,” the magazine reported citing a source.
Pitt was married for five years to Jennifer Aniston, before they split and Pitt and Jolie hooked up. At the time,they were filming the movie, “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” together.
Jolie divorced “Trainspotting” actor Johnny Lee Miller in 1999 and from “Monster’s Ball” star Billy Bob Thornton in 2003.
Divorce is awful, betraying the one who loves and trust most, or abandoning the oath of marriage, which Brad did to Jen in 2004. When there are children produced from the relationship, walking away from the children from a woman whom the man can’t put up with being together itself not to mention being in love, the life-shattering heart break and pain in the children, unmeasurable, which Brad is doing to his children just like so many millions men have been doing before.
The real difficulty is actually ahead of the man who chooses divorce from a mother of his children- which is the infamous Brad this time-. No woman who believes in one life time love would be happy to find her husband meeting his ex-wife behind her back even if it’s because of his own children in the mother’s arms. Actually it would be painful and there will always be doubt that the man might go back to the mother of his children or sleep with her by chance, for example some men lack the quality to be faithful, which Brad seems to be also.
No children would be happy to see their father having new children with a woman who is not their mother.
You can brainwash them to understand and they would do when they way grow up but all along through the teenage years to really be mature, it would be such a pain and source of emptiness from within.
Brad Pitt is simply an asshole in my eyes, a wondering soul with deep sorrow-source unidentifiable since he is incapable of just like so many men and women assholes out there- within can’t surrender to admit that he needs to grow up.
People, children are not toys, pets nor furniture. They are the same beings just like any of us, no one has right to do cause damage on the souls when they in the phase of shaping themselves and their life on Earth, I mean when they grow up. No divorce if there is a child from the relationship, until the child grow up turns 25. I will explain why it’s 25 later. Individual Peace and pros…(I can’t spell this word means wealth kkk) will be much closer than now if we learn this one little wisdom of life well enough.
You know, the fans of this couple, and we are many – have to laugh at these reports. They contain so many untruths, that even if we were prone to believe some of these lies (and we’re NOT) we couldn’t. You write they were ‘over each other at the IB Cannes premiere,’ yet if the stills of them looking gorgeous, happy and in love weren’t enough, there’s footage of the afterparty where they are snuggling together and looking very much together. So I read stuff like that, as a member of their fandom, I immediately know it’s false. With all the technology and information at your disposal, I am simply astounded, why people take these tabloid stories at their word. Why is it enough that a known tabloid can say something, and instead of googling, youtubing, and verifying thru interviews and witnesses you say otherwise?
