Elin Nordegren has reportedly given wandering husband Tiger Woods six months to prove he has sworn off his cheating ways. But one slip and he will be out on his ear.
That’s Elin’s gift to Tiger for spending six weeks at a sex addiction clinic.
Elin, 30, met with doctors at the clinic and they convinced her that her husband had made “remarkable progress,” a close friend of the beautiful Swede told the UK’s Daily Mirror newspaper.
“She has been convinced there is hope for the marriage. The doctors told her she shouldn’t underestimate Tiger’s ability to learn new coping skills and grow as a person,” the friend said.
“She has been convinced by the professionals that there is hope – and this isn’t lawyers or businessmen giving her advice, it’s doctors. And they say he has made remarkable progress.”
Because her own mother and father divorced, Elin is reportedly determined to make an effort to keep her family together for the couple’s two young children, Sam, two, and Charlie, who just turned one.
“She would hate herself if she just gave up on him, especially when he’s so serious about getting help. But one thing is for sure… Elin won’t be duped twice,” the source said.
The decision is a marked turnaround from a few weeks ago, when Elin was determined to end the five-year marriage and demand half of Tiger’s net worth, said to be around $600 million.
The family is supposed to be moving back to their home in Florida, but the marriage won’t be totally healed until Elin starts wearing her wedding ring again.
“She will only wear her ring again when she has made her mind up what the future holds. She is cautiously optimistic but is taking things one day at a time.”
Although Woods was said to be at the Mississippi sex clinic, his involvement in the program was never confirmed, nor was he ever seen there.
Photos of him on the property turned out to be someone else.
Other rumors last week that he would make a “shock” comeback to professional golf as early as this month, are also now being discounted.
He may not play for another six months or so, according to several reports.

Elin Nordegren may still love Tiger Woods but she also knows that Tiger Woods’ issues are very serious and that only time will tell if he is truly committed to change. It is being reported in Europe that Elin has agreed to give Tiger Woods six months to prove himself. Elin is putting the divorce plans on hold for now. Elin knows well that she has a responsibility to herself and her children and that their life is too precious to spend it with someone that may not be worth it. I applaud Elin’s decision and wish her the best. Keep strong Elin, you are a true woman!
Regarding your point “He may not play for another six months or so, according to several reports”, I don’t think it will be so long…. For Tiger to be back to “normal life”, golf is his saviour… I am not advocating for him to dash back to golf tournaments because he definitely needs more time for marriage remedy and building back of his confidence… Lucky that he is in no pressure for money (being so rich), but idling himself for too long for a man is not a good thing… No one said marriage remedy can’t be done in conjunction with other aspects of life though at start one does have to give more focus to it… Some e-rumour of Tiger back to Accenture Match (in Feb) is ridiculous. If I were in Tiger’s situation, I won’t fully load my schedule with tournaments as like in the old days… Family and career need to be balanced… It looks reasonable for him to start golf tournaments 3 or more months from now, and even if started, to reduce out of state tournaments to just every other month on the average in the early stages.
