Twilight star Robert Pattinson has faced challenges in his brief career, but getting into bed with Uma Thurman for next role in the film “Bel Ami” was his most “disturbing.”
The 23-year old confesses in a new interview that he finds Thurman, intimidating and says the shoot will be “kind of disturbing.”
Thurman, who turns 40 in April and is 17 years Rob’s senior, is one of Hollywood’s leading ladies, although she lives in New York with two children.
She is a veteran actress, and her films range from romantic comedies and dramas to science fiction and action thrillers. She is best known for her role in Quentin Tarantino’s “Pulp Fiction’ and “Kill Bill” (2003–2004).
But she won’t be the only actress he jumps into bed with Rob’s character, journalist Georges Duroy, who climbs the social ladder by sleeping with a series of prominent women in the adaptation of French author Guy de Maupassant’s 19th Century novel.
He’ll also romp with Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott-Thomas.
But Uma is the one who make him nervous.
“The sex scenes with Uma are kind of disturbing. Her character kind of uses sex as a weapon and my character thinks like an animal,” he explains.
“There’s quite a lot of sex scenes in this film, so I’m asking quite a lot of myself, and with lots of different people as well,” he adds.
Thurman is currently appearing in the role of Medusa in “Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.” Fortunately, she’ll lose the head full of snakes for “Bel Ami.”
Rob also says he’d love to play Spiderman, but acknowledges that rumors to that effect are just that — rumors.
Toby Maguire and director Sam Raimi recently quit the blockbuster franchise, and movie bosses subsequently announced plans to make the fourth film in the series a prequel.
Pattinson says Hollywood bosses haven’t approached him about the role, but if they did, he’d be open to the idea. “I don’t think I am going to be playing Spider-Man, although I would quite like to do it.”

Hey, is it simply me or doesn’t Uma look somewhat like Palin in Motherhood? As for you smart a’s out there, no it wasn’t me in the UK theater on opening night. Got the urge to see the trailer after hearing the news though. And hey Uma, never mind, there will be different movies. You are beautiful, smart and a talented actress.
