Arizona Muse commands a major spread in the latest issue of Paris Vogue, marking an incredible rise in 2011 from catalog model to budding supermodel. Credit her distinctive style.
Muse may have seemed to come out of nowhere to the higher echelon of modeling, but she’s been around. Her career began in 2008, but was interrupted by pregnancy at 19. She took a year and a half off to have her baby.
Muse’s stunning rise–she was best known as an Urban Outfitters catalog model–actually began in late 2010.
She opened and close the spring 2011 BCBG Max Azria show at New York Fashion Week, and was booked exclusively by Prada for their spring show in Milan.

It was a major coup for an unknown model, and she became the talk of fashion. She and model Freja Erichsen covered Vogue Italia together in last January. During the summer they were rumored to be dating.
Muse, who turned 23 in September, also caught the eye of Vogue’s Anna Wintour.
“When I look at Arizona Muse, I see shadows of Linda Evangelista and Natalia Vodianova, but most of all I see her, a gorgeous, smart, grown-up,” she said in an editor’s note. “And how could anyone resist someone with that name?”
She’s been photographed by top photographer’s Steven Meisel (Vogue Italia) and Karl Lagerfeld (Numéro). And, she’s appeared in Vogue editions around the globe.
The 5’10” model’s distinctive looks have won praise.
“First, those eyebrows. Sharp, full, unbelievably long—like lightning bolts. And then that hair: It’s short when most everyone else is doing long, effortlessly tousled in a way that feels soft but also very new,” writer Belinda White gushed in Vogue.
“Everything was those eyebrows,” make-up artist Stéphane Marais told White. She wasn’t “another one who bleaches her brows. She has natural edge. Her beauty is poetic.”
In Paris Vogue, she recalls ’80s style glam rock decadance. Inez & Vinoodh photographed her in Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Balmain and Calvin Klein. Editor-in-chief Emmanuelle Alt styled.
