Kate Upton continues to defy critics who say she’s nothing more than a bikini model. She dresses up for the 15th anniversary issue of French magazine Jalouse and looks like a Parisian belle.
Upton burst onto the scene as “rookie of the year” in Sports Illustrated’s 2011 swimsuit issue. The following year, she snagged the cover of the widely read issue. Since then, she’s become a force unto herself.
Her voluptuous curves have drawn criticism from some fashion-industry insiders, who say she’s unfit for the runway.
Kate Upton Flaunts French Elegance
But she’s proving she can be a glamour model, with a coquettish look that recalls Marilyn Monroe, Brigitte Bardot and other legendary sex sirens. Jalouse is her latest foray into high fashion.
In her latest photo spread, Upton looks like a Paris sophisticate in Carven, Hermes, Burberry Prorsum and Dior. She poses for photographer Alexei Hay who captures Kate’s elegant beauty in ’60s retro styling by Jennifer Eymere. Raymond McLaren styles her hair and Stevie Huynh applies makeup.
“I’m not going to starve just to be thin. I want to enjoy life, and I can’t if I’m not eating,” she said in response to critics.
