Kiefer Sutherland has struggled off and on with alcohol abuse, and it looks like he is on — the sauce again, that is, judging by an incident last night in London. It wasn’t pretty for the “24” star.
Sutherland was reportedly accosted by bouncers at a London strip club early this morning (Apr. 16) after he stumbled out of the club drunk and shirtless.
The Emmy Award and Golden Globe winner, best known for his role as Jack Bauer in TV series “24,” served 48 days in prison in 2007 and early 2008 after pleading no contest to a driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol.
The bouncers forced Sutherland into a car and ordered the driver to take the actor away. At one point they had him in a headlock.
The actor’s drunken night out with pals began at The Covent Garden Hotel. At 2am, the 43-year-old actor was driven to the exotic dance club Stringfellows in London’s tenderloin distirct.
A smashed Sutherland was dancing erratically and shouting before getting into a scuffle with staff, according to UK tabloid, The Sun newspaper.
Security asked him to leave, and spent more than 10 minutes trying to convince him to get in his car.
Paparazzi were waiting outside the club, well known to attract celebrities, and Southerland was photographed during the drunken scene.
They literally dragged him from the club and pushed him into a waiting vehicle – only for the star to escape the car and take a tumble on the street, a source said.
“He went bananas (mad), shouting nonsense and dancing like (English soccer player) Peter Crouch before kicking off when he was asked to leave,” an eyewitness told the tabloid.
But that wasn’t the end of Sutherland’s night.
He was later spotted at 4am falling into the street outside his hotel, with his jacket unbuttoned.
The star, was in London to plug his new film “Twelve.”
Sutherland can be an aggressive drunk Lat May, he surrendered himself to police after head-butting fashion designer Jack McCollough following a celebrity charity evening. The case was settled out of court.
