Twilight’s Kristen Stewart joined 15 other hot actress on this year’s ‘Kickin’ A list assembled by film industry trade magazine Variety, even though she put herself through hell this year because of her cheating scandal.
“Amid all the testosterone-heavy tentpoles and hit pay TV action series this year, it was the female characters that really delivered the knockout punches,” the magazine noted.
Ironically, Stewart, 22, made the list for her role in “Snow White and the Huntsman” and not “On the Road,” where she had probably the most daring role of her career. She was joined by Charlize Theron, for her role as Queen Ravenna in the movie.

“Stewart made the character her own with a steely version of the apple-loving beauty,” the magazine said. Honestly, Stewart sleep-walked through the movie, but should have made the list for “On the Road.”
And there’s a double irony because her cheating scandal involved “Snow White” Director Rupert Sanders. Boyfriend Robert Pattinson walked out on her, but there have been reports they may have reconciled.
Even so, Kristen is keeping some pretty good company on the list. She’s joined by Zoe Bell from “Raze,” “Django Unchained;” Marion Cotillard and Anne Hathaway for the “The Dark Knight Rises;” Claire Danes for her role as Carrie Mathison in “Homeland;” Scarlett Johansson in “The Avengers” and Emma Stone in “Spider-Man.”
The magazine said dozens of women could have made the list, but the focus this year was “on those who influenced the industry by thinking outside of the box.” Which is a bit odd since the list is slanted to big-budget studio movies, (e.g. advertisers) or as they call them in the industry, “tent poles.”
As always, there were some glaring omissions. For example, Jennifer Lawrence was absent despite her role as Katniss in this year’s big hit “The Hunger Games.” Amy Adams was also stellar in “Trouble with the Curve” and “The Master.”
Helena Bonham Carter in “Les Misérables,” Laura Linney in “Hyde Park on Hudson” and Quvenzhané Wallis for her role in “Beasts of the Southern Wild” are also missing in action.
On the other hand, HBO’s “Game of Thrones” is way over-represented; Emilia Clarke, Gwendoline Christie, Lena Headley and Maisie Williams all made the list. Yet overlooked was this year’s standout Rose Leslie as Ygritte.
