Lizzy Caplan is one of those young Hollywood starlets who seem to turn up in all the right places on film and television, yet always seems to be the friend of a friend. But Lizzy could be the next young actress to break out, a la Kristen Stewart or Zooey Deschanel.
Caplan covers the new issue of Complex magazine and shows she has the looks and attitude to carry major roles.
After all, she’s been in everything from “Mean Girls” to “Cloverfield” to “Hot Tub Time Machine.” And she’s not afraid to go all the way –sans clothes, that is — like she did in those racy guest spots on “True Blood.”
Next month, she’s ready to take on another season of the Starz! series “Party Down,” which Complex calls “criminally underrated (and hilarious).”
It’s about aspiring actors-turned-cater-waiters in Los Angeles, who are looking for the big break. Caplan can relate.
She began her television acting career in 1999 playing a bit part on the series “Freaks and Geeks.” She also appeared in Jason Mraz’s music video “You and I Both.”
Caplan was nominated for a Saturn award as Best Supporting Actress for her role in the 2008 film “Cloverfield.”
She also appeared in the romantic comedy “My Best Friend’s Girl’ playing Ami, the roommate of Kate Hudson’s character Alexis.
