Taylor Momsen Takes It All Off in 'The Words' Video (watch!)

Singer Touches on Sexual Abuse, Incest Themes

Taylor Momsen routinely flashes her breasts during music performances so it should come as no surprise that she finally takes it all off for her new “Under the Water” video. But is it art, or artifice?

Shock and decadence have always been a big part of her act, and Momsen, who played Jenny Humphrey on TV’s “Gossip Girl,” tries hard to be the bad girl of rock.

That’s no simple task with rivals like Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and even 53-year-old Madonna, all working nudity, or near nudity, into their stage shows for sometime now.

In the video, the 19-year-old singer speaks the words to her song, called “The Words.” The subject matter suggestions sexual abuse and incest.

“Lay my head under the water,
Lya my head under the sea.
Excuse me sir, am I your daughter,
Take me back and see.”

During the 1:15 clip the camera pans over her body in ultra-close ups showing her eyes with her trademark heavy mascara, her face and lips. It follows her hand down her body, as well. About a minute or so in, the camera pans back and Momsen appears full-frontal nude.

But her private parts are either blurred out or covered by shadow, effectively rendering safe enough for YouTube without parental guidance.
