Canadian Crooner Michael Bublé Sets Crazy Love Tour

michael-bubleMichael Bublé, the Canadian crooner who channels ‘40s and ‘50s stars like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Bobby Darin, continues to amaze, given that much of his music was first performed when his grandfather was a strapping young lad. After releasing a smash album, he’s set to tour.

His new album Crazy Love hit No 1 on the Top 200 album chart its first two weeks out and continues to  top  the jazz charts. It was release in October, and Buble will launch a major tour in March to support the set.

Who’s listening to this stuff?

Turns out, he’s turning on his own generation to the big band and swing sounds of Frank and crew, not to mention connecting with boomers who grew up hearing their fathers’ vinyl on the stereo.

The geriatric set, which remembers the music from the first time around, is probably tuning in as well, even though are likely residing in nursing homes, by now.

Truth is, Bublé, with his velvet voice and smooth delivery, cuts across all generations like few singers can. Well, Rod Stewart may be one exception, but you can’t ask for better company than that.

Bublé has made the rounds promoting his album over the past couple of months. He performed on “Dancing with the Stars” with UK sensation Susan Boyle in early November, and also appeared on Oprah, who gave him her warm endorsement.

He swept through New York City for an appearance on Regis & Kelly and was featured at the Rockefeller Center tree lighting ceremony along with Shakira, Aretha Franklin and Alicia Keys.

Bublé also paired up with R&B sensation Jennifer Hudson for her Christmas special on ABC, Monday (Dec. 14).

Hudson told TV Guide she wanted to sing with Buble because she thought he would bring a “classic touch for the holidays.” She was right.

The duo peformed “Baby It’s Cold Outside’ and “Let it Snow.”

Pairing with Bublé gave Hudson a chance to showcase her ability to sing classics and jazzy ballads as well as the power R&B she is known for.

Bublé also jetted across the Atlantic for an appearance on the “X Factor,” the UK equivalent of Fox’s “American Idol” He teamed up with contestant Stacey Solomon for a duet of “Feeling Good.”

UK papers said Bublé’s Crazy Love flew off store shelves the next day at Tesco’s, one of Britain’s leading music retailers.

Bublé is hitting the road to tour early next year, with 20 US cities on the books so far, beginning with Orlando in early March and ending in LA in early April.
