Amy Winehouse Back in Dog House Over Assault Charge

amy-winehouseTroubled UK singer Amy Winehouse has been charged with common assault for a ruckus she caused after being ejected form a theater for disruptive behavior and appearing drunk.

The “Back to Black” singer turned herself in at the town of Milton Keynes police station this morning (Dec. 23) to answer questions about an incident. Amy was cleared of assault earlie this year after she was accused of hitting a fan at a charity event.

The scuffle unfolded on Saturday (Dec. 19) when Amy allegedly kicked the theatre’s front-of-house manager Richard Pound after he tried to eject her from the audience during a performance of pantomime “Cinderella.”

The pantomime is a traditional musical comedy production, typically performed around Christmas and draws families with children.

But the 26-year-old star reportedly spent more than half an hour of the first act yelling expletives at the cast.

Her outbursts were said to include “f**k Cinders, Prince Charming, marry me” and branding the Ugly Sisters “b***hes.”

Families in the audience got upset when Amy repeatedly stood up, blocking their view to jeer at the cast.

She was formally arrested and charged with a Section 5 public order offence and common assault. She is due to appear at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 20 Jan. 2010.

Father Mitch Winehouse went ballastic with Amy over her alleged theatre attack.

“I’ve never seen Mitch this angry, he is seething. He can’t believe Amy would act so stupidly,” a friend said.

Winehouse had been reported to be on the mend after a year-long drink and drug bender that cause some to fear she might kill herself. “Amy had really changed over the last few months and was getting her life back on track, ” a source told the Daily Star newspaper.

Her father blamed her behavior on her ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil, whom she recently spent time with. “After just one day in Blake’s presence, Amy reverted back to her wild ways,” the source said.
