The results may surprise you; two are considered fat, one is borderline underweight and one appears to be a fibber.
The results could actually be far worse, if one host owned up to her real weight. Guthrie, 42, would only concede that she weighed between 139 and 145 pounds.
That seems generous considering her rail thin frame. At 5-feet, 10-inches tall, her claimed weight puts her in the “normal” range based on the Body Mass Index (BMI) published by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Guthrie’s BMI, based on the low end of her estimate, is 19.9, indicating “normal” weight for adults of her height. Even at 145 pounds she would be in the normal range. The question is, does she really weigh that much?
Some reports claim she is actually six-feet one-inch tall and weighs 183 pounds. Other estimates have put her weight at 124 pounds.
If the latter were true, it would drop her BMI to 17.6, suggesting she is underweight and borderline anorexic.
Hall, who is five-feet, nine-inches tall said she weight 126 pounds. Her BMI reading is 18.6, which puts her in the “normal” range but just barely. A BMI of 18.5 is considered underweight.
Leave it to the guys to come in overweight. Daily, who is six-feet, two-inches tall, has a BMI of 27, indicating he is “overweight.”
Roker at five-feet, eight-inches tall, has a BMI of 28.4, which puts him in the “overweight” category, as well. A BMI reading of 30 is considered obese.
Roker weighed more than 340 pounds in 2002 and wore a size 60 suit. He underwent bypass surgery and dropped to as low as 160 pounds at one point, but has since packed on 20 pounds.
The “Today” hosts probably are pretty representative of most Americans. Two normal, two overweight and one fibber.
