‘Dead’ Mississippi Man Rises, Again, on Embalming Table (video)

Walter Williams, 78, is resting comfortably in a hospital after he was pronounced dead and spent the night in a body bag.

Walter Williams, by any measure known to medical science, was dead. The hospice center that cared for him, family members and the funeral home that collected his body would swear to it. Only, he wasn’t.

In a medical mystery that can only be described as a miracle, Williams, 78, started breathing again.

Howard and Byron Porter from Porter & Sons Funeral Home in Lexington, Mississippi, picked up the body after Williams’ hospice nurse and family members called to say he was dead.

“There was no pulse. He was lifeless,” Howard told CNN. They loaded him in body bag and drove him to the funeral home on Wednesday night.

On Thursday morning, when they got him on the embalming table they noticed the bag move.

“We got him into the embalming room and we noticed his legs beginning to move, like kicking,” Howard said. “He also began to do a little breathing.”

They called for an ambulance and paramedics discovered that Williams had a heartbeat. They took him to the local hospital where he is now resting… alive.

“They were in shock. I was in shock. I think everybody at the hospital was in shock,” Howard said.
