Lena Dunham Brings Girls to Garden of Eden on SNL (watch!)

Lena Dunham commits the original sin as Eve in a short film on Saturday Night Live.

Lena Dunham plays a very naked Eve in the Garden of Eden in a hilarious “Saturday Night Live” skit. She wants Adam to take a women’s gender studies class and complains that God is trying to “apple shame” her.

Dunham hosted the sketch comedy show last night (Feb. 8) and played heavily off the reaction her HBO show about 20-somethings in New York City is getting.

That would include her character’s tendency to take off her clothes, over-analyze things and shade meanings with conditional suppositions.

“I know I committed original sin, but at least it’s original, and I think I deserve some credit for that,” she says at one point.

The short film plays off the recent rash of Biblical films like “Son of God” and soon-to-be-released “Noah,” starring Emma Watson and Russell Crowe.

“And coming soon, another extraordinary Biblical film that tells the astonishing story of the Garden of Eden and the mother of life itself,” a voice-over solemnly pronounces.

Enter Dunham: “Adam? Adam, a snake just talked to me, is that normal?” she yells to her mate, played by castmember Taran Killam, doubling as Adam and the HBO show’s Adam Driver.
