Lena Dunham Talks ‘Girls’ Graphic Sex Scenes in SNL Monlogue (see!)

Lena Dunham turns her Saturday Night Live monologue into a discussion about sex.

Lena Dunham advised during her “Saturday Night Live” monologue last night (Feb. 8) that the best way to overcome stage fright is to imagine the audience naked. “Or at least imagine they haven’t seen you naked,” she said. And, right, who has?

The old saw allowed Lena to get right to the point. Why does her HBO show “Girls” have such a preponderance of nudity?

Well, “Seinfeld” had the puffy shirt, “Home Improvement” had the neighbor talking over a fence, and we have “very graphic sex scenes,” she said.

“That’s our thing.”

But there is a downside. Complete strangers now walk up and tell her details about their sex lives she never wanted to know.

“Like, the other day a man on the street says: ‘Hey, Lena, your breasts look just like my sister’s,” she recounted.

“I had a lot of follow up questions, like why would you know that, and does your sister have nice breasts?” she added.

But things are different on SNL, of course. “People actually respect boundaries,” said the host.

Well, not quite.

Castmember Vanessa Bayer had a question about… you guessed it… her very personal sex life.
