Lena Dunham covers the April issue of Glamour and dispenses wisdom for 20-somethings.

Lena Dunham talks and talks…and talks. About what? Just about everything and anything in the new April issue of Glamour magazine, from boyfriends and acting to sex and a good haircut. She’s this generation’s Annie Hall.

Dunham has ruffled more than a few feathers by scoring young and scoring big with her HBO show “Girls.”

But, for better or worse it’s become a cultural touchstone for twenty-somethings, who may have gotten the rawest deal of any generation in recent American history.

The show is the antithesis of HBO’ last hit show about girls, “Sex and the City.”

Dunham and her castmates, Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet, Adam Driver and Alex Karpovsky, struggle to live out big-city dreams on an entry-level salaries and unemployment.

Dunham, as the central character, Hannah, spends a lot of time over-analyzing and self-rationalizing the human condition, something that is pretty close reflection of the 27-year-old actress in real life.

“I feel prettier with a naked face and ChapStick, but a good haircut makes a huge difference,” she says both rejecting and embracing fashion.

Needless to say, she spends a good deal of the feature dispensing advice about dating and what constitutes a “supportive” partner.

“It’s somebody who gives you the space and time you need to do your work; somebody who says, ‘You couldn’t do anything that would embarrass me. Just be yourself in a way that has integrity, and I’ll be proud of you,'” she tells the magazine.

“I think women are conditioned to stand by their man and watch them make it to the top, but most men never believe the person they get into a relationship with is going to rise any higher than she was when they met,” she adds.

“It takes a very special, evolved person to be able to deal with change within a relationship.”
