Jamie Foxx gets a long-awaited close up in a new “Amazing Spider-Man 2” trailer. His character, Electro faces off with Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, in New York City’s Times Square. Could the racial stereotyping be any more obvious?

The new 59-second clip, released today (Mar. 11), features Electro and Parker meeting face-to-face for the first time.

The draw a standing-room-only crowd behind police barricades, including Parker’s fetching squeeze Gwen Stacy, played by Emma Stone.

Unbeknownst to Electro or Spider-Man, a police sniper is lurking high above the scene, drawing a bead on the strange, electrified man in a hoodie.

Geeze… a hoodie?

With the Trayvon Martin travesty in Florida still an open wound, Foxx is looms large in the movie as the image of a violent, dangerous African-American.

He goes one step further by wearing a hoodie in the clip. Could the stereotyping be any more obvious?

“I got so much… I go so much anger,” says Electro, his hands and face literally snapping with electric current.

Spider-Man tries to talk him down, but the police, aka, the white man, have other ideas.
