Demi Lovato has been out of rehab and living healthy since the end of 2010, but she’s still haunted by her days of cutting, bulimia and drug use. She pleaded with fan at her iHeartRadio show to ask for help like she did and get healthy.

Lovato, 21, had a major meltdown while on tour with the Jonas Brothers band in South America in late 2009 and ended up punching one of her backup dancers. The incident led to rehab.

Lovato, who’s always had body issues, gained about 30 pounds and become outspoken about body image and healthy eating. She’s decried the pressure in Hollywood for stars to be thin.

She relived those moments again with fans during the show. “I’ve been through a lot and you guys have supported me every step of the way… and I want to thank you for that,” she told the audience.

“I feel like because I have been through a lot of stuff, sometimes you know honestly, I get sick and tired of sharing my stories. But every time that I tell it I know that at least one person is going to hear it that’s never heard it before,” she said.

“So whether you get tired of hearing it, or I get tired of telling it, I want to say it once again because someone needs to hear it. And, I don’t know who it is, but you know who your are.”

What ever you go through, mental illness, being bullied at school, cutting or an eating disorder are very serious, she told the audience. “Don’t be afraid to talk to people and ask for heelp, because that’s what I did,” she said.

Lovato followed up with her song “Warrior,” about empowerment in a solo piano performance. She also sang “Unbroken” and “Let It Go.”

The singer played a 12-song set that also included some of her favorites like “Heart Attack,” “Fire Starter,” “Give Your Heart a Break,” and “Neon Lights.”
