Robert Pattinson created a cottage industry of new tabloid rumors after he was spotted at the Coachella Music Festival. But who was he hooking up with? The was the question and friend Katy Perry was the most obvious answer.

The story has been too juicy to pass up fueled by the fact that Pattinson and Perry were actually in close proximity to each other at the festival.

Robert Pattinson Only Interested in ‘Random Hookups’ Believe It… NOT

But that’s since been sensationalized to “they were seen kissing” and “holding hands” with him “acting like a puppy dog around her.”

All of this, of course is based on anonymous “sources” who can’t wait to spill the beans to a tabloid, in this case Life & Style magazine.

These reports take on a life of their own when other equally sketchy sites like HollywoodLife run with the story, no questions asked.

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart May Be Meeting Again… in Court

Of course, HollywoodLife has already stuck its neck out with a related story. Since he broke up with Kristen Stewart, it claimed Rob is only interested in playing the field and random hookups.

But that story is contrary to everything Rob has ever said he wants in a relationship in his own words in several interviews over the last few years.

A separate report claimed that Rob was hooking up with a friend of Katy Perry’s, so-called “super stylist” and confident Cleo Wade. Sky News in Australia reported the story, but has since pulled it from its Web site.

So far there have been no credible reports that Pattinson is dating, or “hooking up” with anyone. As soon as we obtain credible information, we’ll report it here.

Until then, be wary of tabloid reports like Life & Style’s and the sites that follow such stories without question. They’re just playing off the emotions of Pattinson fans to attract attention.
