Robert Pattinson’s “Rover” character, Rey, sports a number of tattoos, and Rob was asked about the meaning behind them at the movie’s premiere today (June 8) in Sydney Australia.

In the movie the world’s social and economic order has collapsed, but tattoos, it seems, never go out of style.

Rob’s a character Reynolds, or Rey for short, is a slightly slow-witted brother of a gang member roaming Australia’s Outback, a rough desert region.

Gangs rule the country, and Rey’s mob sets out to rob Eric, a loner with few possessions, played by Guy Pearce.

In the ensuing gun battle, Rey is wounded and left for dead. The gang makes off with Eric’s car, which he’s determined to get back. So he patches up Rey to help him find his brother.

Rob said during a brief interview that Rey has three tattoos.
