Kim Kardashian’s dream home with husband Kanye West has turned into an endless money pit that has strained even their finances. The house, plus their lavish partying and wedding, have created at least a short-term cash crunch, according to a source.

West, like so many rappers, has never given much thought to managing money.

He’s spent lavishly on bling his entire career to keep up with appearances.

Kim has done better, but she’s not making the money she once made because of fewer endorsement deals. The Kardashian boutique chain, Dash, is also proving to be problematic.

The Kardashians have stores in Los Angeles, Miami and New York City. The Los Angeles and Miami stores have changed addresses at least once. The New York store in SoHo may be the weakest of the three.

“Place Is Ridiculous, Insanely Overpriced, Rude Employees and Uptight Security,” wrote one Florida tourist on review Web site Trip Advisor.

“Your options are clothing from Nordstrom’s for triple the price, or a Dash water bottle for $10, a Soy ‘Dash’ Candle for $40, or a plain white ‘Dash’ T-shirt for $45. Typical overpriced tourist junk.”

Twenty-two reviewers gave the store “poor” or “terrible” ratings while seven said the store was good, or excellent. Another seven reviewers gave it an
“average” rating.

The Kardashians recently opened a Long Island store in the trendy Hamptons. But the outlet is only temporary. It will close after Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian are done filming their summer reality series.

It may not have opened at all, if not for a deal they cut with landlord Irma Herzog.

She gave the clan a 600-square-foot gallery space for free, hoping to boost publicity for her restaurant next door, according to The New York Daily News.

Kim and Kayne have been partying all over the world mostly on their own dime. And, unlike Kim’s wedding to basketballer Kris Humphries, there were no lavish endorsement deals.

Meanwhile, the house has been bleeding money like an open wound.

They paid a reported $11 million for the Bel Air mansion in June a year ago. They immediately began a renovation so extensive they might have well just torn the place down.

Instead they reportedly sunk millions into re-doing the Mediterranean-style villa. Among some of the changes, Kayne wanted to add a new gym, cinema, bowling alley and basketball court.

Other tabloid reports claim the property became a source of tension between the two after Kayne demanded repeated changes in the design, prolonging the renovation and sending costs skyrocketing.

But now they have apparently decided enough is enough.

UsWeekly reported that they are putting the house up for sale. The purported reason is that Kim wants to be closer to her mother, who lives about an hour away in Calabasas.

But more than likely, the house, plus all the other spending, was putting a huge dent in their short-term cash.
