Gossip site TMZ reported today (July 22) that Thicke’s 3,158-square-foot home was “officially” on the market for $2.985 million.
If so, it would be priced below market. The home’s estimated price between $3 million and $4.6 million, according to zillow.com.
The average sale price in the neighborhood is $2.625 million, according to another real estate Web site, trulia.com
What’s more, TMZ reported that the house was located in Bel Air. Actually, the house Thicke owns is in the Hollywood Hills section of Los Angeles.
Variety also reported the home for sale and had Sotheby’s International Realty as the listing agency. But the home is not listed on its Web site.
The last time the property changed hands, Robin’s dad, television actor Alan Thicke paid $910,000 for it in 1990. It was built in 1965.
The Realtor’s group runs the Web site realtors.com; as of Tuesday night (July 22) the house was listed as “off the market.” TMZ did not reveal a source for its story.
A possibility exists the house could be for sale privately, and therefore would not be listed.
The sale of the house would be significant because Thicke and his wife, actress Paula Patton, are currently estranged. Robin has been trying to win her back.
He dedicated his latest album to her and the sale of their house would suggest a divorce may be in the offing. Or, they may just want to leave bad memories behind.
Patton announced their separation in February after Robin, a serial flirter, was photographed with his hand deep in a woman’s crotch at the MTV Video Music Awards.
The couple married in 2005 and Paula gave birth to a son in 2010. So far no divorce papers have been filed, which further weighs against a sale.
The Spanish-style house sits on a bluff above L.A.’s famed Sunset Strip and has a dramatic view of the valley.
