Emily Ratajkowski, who shot to notoriety last summer as a topless floozy in Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” video, has landed a new film role with “High School Musical” hunk Zac Efron.
With a new high-glamour photo spread in the upcoming issue of Vanity Fair, Ratajkowski is the summer’s hot girl.
But Ratajkowski, 23, is no floozy in real life. She was born in London to high-brow American parents. Her mother Kathleen Balgley, is an author and English professor. Her father, J. D. Ratajkowski, is a painter and art teacher.
She’s lived in California since she was five and signed with Ford Models when she was 14. Although she’s best known as a swimsuit model (she landed a spot in this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue), she acted as a child, mostly bit parts on Nickelodeon.
Last year, she landed her first major screen role in “Gone Girl” starring Ben Affleck, Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry and Rosamund Pike. She plays a college student who gets involved with Affleck’s character Nick Dunne.
The mystery-thriller, which hits theaters in October, is based on a novel of the same name by Gillian Flynn about a dysfunctional family that unravels when the wife goes missing.
Her latest project, “We Are Your Friends” will start filming Aug. 18 in California, according to deadline.com. Max Joseph, known for his work on MTV’s “Catfish,” will mark his feature film debut as director.
The film is about a young DJ trying to find his way through the labrynith of Hollywood nightlife. An older fading DJ takes him under his wing, and the young DJ (Efron) finds himself falling for his mentor’s girlfriend (Ratajkowski).
At this rate, Emily could give supermodel Kate Upton a run for her money.
