Jessica Alba’s “Sin City: A Dame to Die For” character, Nancy Callahan, is heading to stores as an action figure, but she told Conan O’Brien last night (Aug. 19) that parents may want to think twice before stuffing stockings with them at Christmas.
The movie is a sequel to the 2005 hit “Sin City,” and Alba reprises her character for the new film.
In the neo-noir action thriller, Nancy is an exotic dancer working at Kadie’s Bar, a popular hangout frequented by several key characters.
In the first film, she’s rescued from Roark Junior by the hardboiled John Hartigan (Bruce Willis), and becomes a target of the corrupt Roark family.
In the follow-up, Nancy is driven to madness by Hartigan’s suicide. She talks to him through her hallucinations and is determined to exact retribution from Senator Roark. She joins up with friend Marv (Mickey Rourke) to hunt him down.
While the film hardly has the makings for childrens’ toys, the doll manufacturer pulls no punches. Nancy is accurately dressed in one of her stripper outfits.
“When I think action figures, I think it’s for the kids,” said Conan incredulously. “No kid is supposed to have that action figure.”
“It’s a little inappropriate,” Jessica replied.
