Beyonce used the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards to demonstrate once and for all that she is family. Husband Jay Z and daughter Blue Ivy joined her on stage after an epic 20-minute performance in a touching show of solidarity.

The singer has been dogged by rumors that her marriage is on the rocks ever since her sister Solange tangled with Jay Z in an elevator last May.

The fight was no kid-glove stuff. Solange went ballistic on the rapper an after-party following the ritzy annual Costume Institute gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

Although the exact cause of the fracas is not known, there has been much speculation that Solange was sticking up for her sister because of Jay Z alleged wandering eye.

It seemd as though Beyonce had more to prove than family unity on stage.

At 32, she is on the twilight side off her pop career, surrounded by a slew of up and comers from Ariana Grande, Iggy Azalea and Nicki Minaj to reigning princesses like Miley Cyrus, Rihanna and Taylor Swift.

But after her rousing 20-minute performance of songs from her album Beyonce, she accomplished her goal; she’s still the reigning queen.

Tears flowed as she was joined onstage by her beaming husband and daughter. “MTV, welcome to my world,” she said.

Jay Z presented her with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

“The recipient of the Vanguard Award, and the greatest living entertainer, Beyonce!” Jay proclaimed.

And, for another night she was.
