Pattinson, 28, takes his career on another tangent in the spoof of Hollywood celebrity.
He plays a limousine driver and struggling actor who caters to a series of Hollywood eccentrics played by Julianne Moore, Mia Wasikowska, John Cusack, Olivia Williams, Sarah Gadon and Evan Bird.
“The film focuses on the Weiss family, who represent the worst of tinseltown.
Dad Stafford Weiss is a television psychotherapist, who has made a fortune with his self-help manuals. Wife Cristina manages the career of their thirteen-year-old son, Benjie, a child star, who recently went through rehab.
Their daughter Agatha has deep-seated anxieties of her own. She’s just been released from a sanatorium in Florida, where she was admitted for pyromania. Her family does its best to ignore her.
Rob’s character apparently has his own idiosyncrasies. The 39-second clip with Wasikowska, shows him sitting on the step of a location trailer. He calls to Mia. But unfortunately all the dialog has been dubbed into German.
The film will screen at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival, Sept. 9, and will also be shown at the 2014 New York Film Festival. It has no U.S. release date yet.
