Moretz, who turned 17 in February, has been acting since she was seven, and won critical acclaim at eight for her role in “The Amityville Horror.”
She’s always seemed smarter than her years, and shocked audiences in 2010 when she played potty-mouthed Mindy McCready, aka “Hit Girl,” in the comedy action movie “Kick Ass.” She even uttered the c-word.
She still hasn’t graduated high school yet, (she’s a senior).
“My mom tells me no all the time! I tried to go to this pool party thing last night with 10 friends, and she was like, ‘No! You slept over at your friend’s last night—you need to stay home.'”
Yet Chloe has already worked with Martin Scorsese and Steven Soderbergh, who directed her in an Off-Broadway play.
“I broke out with R-rated movies,” she tells the magazine.
In a show of her range, she was given the impossible task of reprising Sissy Spacek’s role in a remake of the 1976 movie classic “Carrie,” and pulled it off.
In her latest roles she plays a teenage prostitute opposite Denzel Washington in “The Equalizer” and an ambitious young actress opposite Kristen Stewart and Juliette Binoche in “Clouds of Sils Maria.”
The teen actress, who is more often a tarted up in fashion magazines, finally avoids that pitfall in the new issue.
