After firmly establishing herself in comedies, like “Legally Blonde,” Reese tells the magazine she out to showcase her dramatic range in films like “Inherent Vice” and “Gone Girl,” with Ben Affleck.
She won the Best Actress Oscar for her role in the 2005 film “Walk the Line,” a biopic about country singer Johnny Cash. She played wife June Carter Cash opposite Joaquin Phoenix.
Her upcoming movie, “Inherent Vice,” is a crime drama based on the Thomas Pynchon novel that re-teams her with Phoenix.
The film, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, also stars Josh Brolin, Owen Wilson, Katherine Waterston, Jena Malone and Joanna Newsom.
She’s also generating Oscar buzz again for her performance in “Wild,” a movie about a woman’s solo trek on the 1000-mile Pacific Crest Trail. It’s based on a true story. It hits theaters Dec. 14.
