Kim Kardashian works hard for the money, but was she serious when she claimed that her reality television show has aired more episodes than iconic sitcom “I Love Lucy?” Talk about hype.

Kardashian is a media phenomenon, no doubt about it. She credits social media for much of her success.

But what really powers her empire is hype.

Kardashian and her family, which includes sisters Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian and momager Kris Jenner are constantly hyping who they are and what they do.

Even more baffling is how so many so-called celebrity news media outlets fail to call her out on her obvious fabrications.

Even GossipCop, which purports to “bust bad dish” regurgitated the Kardashian “I Love Lucy” claim without even a cursory check. Asleep on the beat again, it seems.

Kim made the statement during an interview at at the Re/Code Code Mobile conference yesterday.

“We’re filming our tenth season. We’ve had nine seasons of spinoffs. We have more episodes than ‘I Love Lucy,’” the reality personality boasted during the interview to explain how hard she works.

The fact is, her show, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” doesn’t come close. In all, KUWTK has aired 96 episodes over nine seasons, according to the network.

Spinoffs “Kourtney and Kim Take New York” aired 20 episodes, “Kourtney and Khloe Take the Hamptons” aired 12 episodes, “Khloe and Lamar” aired 20 episodes and “Kourtney and Kim Take Miami” aired 30 episodes.

That comes to 178 episodes total.

In contrast, “I Love Lucy,” starring Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, aired 97 episodes in just its first three seasons. In all, 180 episodes aired over the show’s six-season run from 1952 to 1957.

And that doesn’t count “The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour” which ran for three seasons afterward. It aired 13 episodes.

That adds up to a total of 193 episodes, plus a spin-off movie in 1953.

Also not counted are Ball’s other “Lucy” spinoffs: “The Lucy Show,” (156 episodes) which ran from 1962 to 1968 and “Here’s Lucy,” (144 episodes) which ran from 1968 to 1974.

Neither show ever finished out of the Top Ten in the Nielsen ratings. Kardashian’s shows have never had a Top Ten finish.

It may be a small point, but it illustrates how the Kardashians function…hype, hype, hype.

Is it any wonder no one takes her seriously?

Check out the interview below, watch her wallow in self-pity and make other bogus claims, like the one where she says she’s never accepted money for tweets.
