If she hadn’t been discovered by chance as a 14-year-old by English actor Benjamin Hart, she might be working as an environmental lawyer or an art historian.
Despite her whirlwind success as a model–she landed her first British Vogue cover at 16–Cole stuck with her studies and gained a place to read Social and Political Sciences at King’s College, Cambridge.
The remarkable feat was made even more so because she already had a successful career as a model. Her breakout came in 2003 when noted fashion photographer Steven Meisel featured her in Italian Vogue.
A year later she was named “Model of the Year” at the British Fashion Awards.
Cole expanded into acting in 2007 with a role in the English comedy “St. Trinian’s.” He big break came in 2009 in the lead role in “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus,” opposite Heath Ledger.
Cole has also long been involved in humanitarian and charitable efforts. She founded her own Web site, impossible.com, last year. It encourages people to donate their services and skills to those in need.
In the December-January issue of Glamour Italia, she shows off the fiery look that catapulted her to the top ranks of modeling. posing in shades of red that play off her trademark red hair.
