FKA Twigs, who is famously dating Robert Pattinson, has released a video for her new song “Pendulum” that would shock even the unflappable “Twilight” hunk. Would you believe bondage?

Twigs, real name Tahliah Barnett, is a singer, songwriter and performance artist.

In this case, the emphasis is on performance. The video opens with a tight shot of her lips that slowly pulls back to show her tied up and suspended in thin air in a classic BDSM bondage pose.

She struggles to break free and eventually escapes the ropes that bind her that look remarkably like her own hair extensions. The scene changes and only her face appears in a pool of molten metal.

She finally segues to a metallic bustier, a la wonder woman.

The video seems to play off BDSM an bondage themes relating to emotional and sexual conflict.

Twig’s made another boldy sexual move when she appeared nearly naked in a new photo spread for V magazine’s music issue.

She explained a little bit about her view on her music and how it is often misconstrued as “alternate R&B.”

“If I say ‘alternative red’ to you, it’s not red, is it? ‘Alternative R&B’ is patronizing to R&B. R&B is R&B — it doesn’t need an alternative. There are plenty of artists now experimenting with electronic music, manipulating sounds. We can make a train into a synth. We can make drips into hi-hats. I can record sounds on my phone and make a song out of a city. I don’t know what that has to do with R&B.”

In December, Vogue magazine named her a 2015 Breakout Star for her “idiosyncratic” style. She ws photographed by renown fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier.

The fashion industry bible cited Twigs for the “way she dresses and carries herself, which is every bit as idiosyncratic as her music.”

They’ve got that right. Check out her new video below. It’s erotic, but actually safe for work and she handles the BDSM themes tastefully.
